Salad Bar Beets

Description: Salad Bar Beets is violet pink crelly that isn’t so much beet colored, per se. But more, the color beets turn any food that sat beside them.

The Lore: The grocery store salad bar was where I discovered that I actually liked beets. Like, really liked beets. Like, really really have a tendency to hyperfixate on beets.

The salad bar was epic. You paid by the pound, built yourself a completely reasonable-looking meal, and were still shocked when it cost $21 (“can I put any of this back?”). And on grocery day, that salad bar was dinner. You brought those ridiculously expensive plastic containers home, probably got to eat on the sofa, and before you even opened it everything inside it was stained pink from the beets.

It wasn’t anything special. It was just grocery night. But you were home.
